English: Sandhya Arghya (evening offerings)
This day is spent preparing the prasad (offerings)at home. On the eve of this day, the entire household accompanies the Vratins to a riverbank, pond or a common large water body to make the offerings (Arghya) to the setting sun. It is during this phase of Chhath Puja that the devotees offer prayers to the just setting sun. The occasion is almost a carnival. Besides the Vratins, there are friends and family, and numerous participants and onlookers, all willing to help and receive the blessings of the worshipper. The folk songs sung on the evening of Chhath.
Igbo: Sandhya Arghya (àjà mgbede)
Ụbọchị a ka eji akwado prasad (onyinye) n'ụlọ. N'uhuruchi nke ụbọchị a, ezinụlọ dum na-eso Vratins gaa n'akụkụ osimiri, ọdọ mmiri ma ọ bụ nnukwu mmiri nkịtị iji nye onyinye (Arghya) ruo ọdịda anyanwụ. Ọ bụ n'oge a nke Chhat Puja ka ndị na-efe ofufe na-ekpe ekpere ka anyanwụ dara. Ememme a fọrọ nke nta ka ọ bụrụ ezumike. E wezụga Vratins, e nwere ndị enyi na ezinụlọ, na ọtụtụ ndị sonyere na ndị na-ekiri ihe, ndị niile dị njikere inye aka na ịnata ngozi nke onye ofufe. Egwu ndị mmadụ na-abụ na mgbede Chhat.
