Summary

Description Figure 7 from Charles Darwin's The Expression of the Emotions in Man and Animals. Caption reads "FIG. 7.—Half-bred Shepherd Dog in the same state as in Fig. 5. By Mr. A. May." [i.e. approaching another dog with hostile intentions]. See also figure 8 by the same author. "First reproduced [from a sketch] by Mr. Cooper on wood by means of photography, and then engraved: by this means almost complete fidelity is ensured." (quoted from p. 26)
